Indian Acid Attack Survivor Reshma Qureshi’s Ramp Walk At New York Fashion Week Was All Kinds Of Power

When in 2014 her brother-in-law and his friends attacked her with acid and assaulted her, she felt that it was the end of her life. Reshma Qureshi, a 19-year-old, was scarred for life and lost all her hope. But today Reshma created a worldwide splash by walking on the ramp at New York Fashion Week, 2016.

Her main aim to walk on the ramp was to fight against acid attacks and promote a ban on the sale of such corrosive substance that is spoiling the life of many young girls and women.

She was invited by for #TakeBeautyBack campaign by FTL Moda, a fashion production company which brings together fashion editors, designers, buyers and models from around the world.

The outfit she wore was designed by Indian designer Archana Kochhar whose designs are often sported by Bollywood celebrities. She was confident on the ramp and looked as gorgeous as any other model. The tiara on her head made her look like a princess.
However, Ms Qureshi wants to complete her education and hopes that her participation will inspire other acid attack survivors.
