Chewing gum brand Centre Fresh recently came up with the hilarious advertising which mocks all the ridiculous stereotypes Indian ad agencies follow. Indian ads generally revolve around ‘Mother: who always cleans the house’, Father: who has all the decision-making power and takes care of insurance, cars and other investments.
It rightfully mocks advertising industry.
I think, it is not wrong to say that Indian ad agencies lack creativity, the approach is ‘old school’ and direct if it is detergent or sanitation commercial then they show how the woman is in charge of taking care of all the cleanliness; if the advertisement is about some substantial investment or finance then man of the house puts his step forward.
A lot has changed in India but sadly not the concept of the advertisement.
