Emma Watson is not wearing any usual monochrome dress but a Calvin Klein monochrome dress made from recycled plastic bottles.
The theme for this year’s Met Gala was “Manus x”Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” and Emma took this opportunity to its fullest by highlighting the incredible advancements in eco fashion. Calvin Klein collaborated with the Green Carpet Challenge to create sustainable red carpet look and everything from lining to the unique yarn, EVERYTHING was made from sustainable materials.
Watson’s stylist Sarah Slutsky wrote on Instagram of the look: “Tonight, the stunning Emma on the red carpet at the Met Ball in a look crafted by the incredible team at Calvin Klein. With the help of Eco Age, this five piece look is created from three fabrics woven from yarns all made from recycled plastic bottles.”
She continues: “Plastic is one of the biggest pollutants – being able to turn this waste into a high-quality material is a real success story. Also, this beautiful look was designed with the intention to be re-purposed for future use; the pants can be worn on their own, the train can be used for another red carpet – the ultimate #30Wears!”
