Starting from today, I won’t be rushing home, winding up work dot at seven as the IPL is over. There won’t be any matches and beers, and maybe there would be no Rising Pune Supergiants next year. During the playoffs, I was supporting Sehwag’s Kings 11, but sadly the team tumbled in a must-win game to a record low in the nine-wicket defeat against Rising Pune Supergiant.
The tournament was over for me– but I was so awed by the remarkably disciplined effort from Rising Pune Supergiant that I decided to watch the final.
This morning I saw Mr Sanjiv Goenka speaking on a news channel about the season. He stated that he managed to accomplish all that he could with things that were within his control. No sir, your brother failed you. He exposed the franchise to a situation where you could have lost all the support. He tried sparking an outrage with his anti-Dhoni tweets. As a management student I was taught—rather than correcting all deviations–management should focus on fixing the major ones —and you missed checking ‘Harsh’ Goenka.
What utter nonsense was he tweeting in 140 characters? What would he reap out of creating a divide between Dhoni and Smith? God bless the employees of RPG Enterprises, who operate under this chairman.
