Did you ever have trouble booking a hotel room just because you have a local ID?
Young and unmarried lovers, travelling couples, often have to pass through judgy-looks before they can get a room in any hotel. Most of them are refused a place because they are from the same city and have local IDs. A new startup is working towards eradicating this problem and making room reservations in hotels easier than ever before.
Started by Sanchit Sethi, StayUncle is a great initiative towards dealing with the society that looks down at pre-marital sex and unmarried couples living together. As the mindset still remains, hoteliers do not want to create any hassles by giving rooms to unmarried couples, following incidents of police harassing couples from out of their hotel room.
StayUncle is an initiative that will change the mindset of people and hoteliers. Many hotels have come forward and joined hands with StayUncle. Right now, the company has tie-ups with around 34 hotels in Delhi and 10 in Mumbai.
The company was initially started in April 2015 by a BITS-Pilani graduate, Sanchit Seti. Now a year later, Sethi has begun StayUncle after significant changes and hopes to bring ease for young unmarried couples to have a private life of their own.
