Fugitive Shaun Miller, 31, of Hyannis, Mass– fooled the joint local-state-federal investigation for around ten months– disguised as ‘PAA’ (Amitabh Bachchan).
A warrant was issued in his name last year in October, and since then he had been on the run. Miller is a heroin peddler and is a member of dangerous Nauti-Block street gang, which is responsible for a significant portion of the heroin circulating in Cape Cod.
Police are still to capture two other members of the group wanted in a murder trial. According to locals, Nauti-Block is one of the most feared cartels in the state and has been hard to crack for the Police. Members of the cartel are highly adept at using a confusing array of disposable cars and safe houses. That’s how they stay ahead.
Federal prosecutors kept a strict vigilance at Miller’s residence, tracked movements of friends and family but got no results.
Amongst all the visitors, there was also an old man whom agents had been stalking for weeks. One evening, an alert officer noticed something suspicious about this old man’s eyes — and about the fact that he was toting $10,000 in cash. That’s when one of the officers pulled off Miller’s realistic disguise.
“I think it was pretty clever,” Peter Dunbar, a neighbour who watched the arrest, told. “I’ve never seen something like that before. That’s someone who really knows what they’re doing.”
