Tesla’s big bet is to manufacture all its new cars with self–driving hardware worth $8,000.
Tesla announced its self-driven cars on 19th October and also pledged to equip all their future cars with self-driving hardware. Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk promised to share the video “navigating a complex urban environment.”
The video is now live, and it shows Tesla car driving a typical home to work route without any manual assistance for a human driver.
In this 3 minutes and 46 seconds long video we see Tesla’s Model X exit the garage, enter into the traffic, join the connecting highway lane and drive itself into the city- all this while following all the traffic rules. It also stops at a traffic light along the way.
On Wednesday, Elon Musk said that the two Models: Model S and Model X cars having self-driving hardware are already in production. He claimed that cars would have “Level 5” autonomy, which means they can drive themselves in every condition.
