The worst part about travelling is Luggage. Whether you are out for a short trip or a long and lengthy vacation carrying your baggage around is one hell of a task. In what you may call an interesting invention since suitcase wheels, a US-based firm has developed ‘Hands-Free Luggage’- Travelmate. This self-moving suitcase solves 90 percent of your hassle. It moves as you walk and can reach a speed of up to 6.75 m/hr.
Not just this, the Hands-Free Luggage can also alter its direction depending upon the direction or roadblock. It also helps you charge your mobile phone, thanks to its USB port and an electrical outlet. The sleek cage can be positioned both horizontally and vertically, with a motor which is powerful enough to hold another bag on top of it.
Travel mate can adjust its speed to its user’s speed and can easily navigate through crowds and over the rough terrain. The robot suitcase also automatically changes its direction when someone runs in front of it to avoid any accident of any sort.
San Fransico-based company, Travelmate Robotics, with its 26 team members came out with this unique concept. They are taking pre-orders for keen buyers, with the luggage starting at $399 (£327), per piece.
This futuristic technology works with the help of mobile app to continuously improve its free function.
